2. Purpose of data collection
We are conducting a market research study using eye tracking technology to understand visual attention and user behavior. The data collected will help improve interface design and product usability.
3. What Data We Collect
- Eye tracking data (e.g., gaze position, pupil size, fixations)
We do not retain eye images, we do not process images of the eyes for identification, nor do we keep data for gaze analysis for the purpose of identification. - Demographic data (e.g., age range, gender – if collected)
- Video/audio recordings during the session (only with explicit consent)
4. Legal Basis
The processing of data is based on informed and voluntary consent, which can be withdrawn at any time without any negative consequences. See Eye tracking Consent Form
5. How We Use Respondent Data
Data will be used solely for market research purposes described in the consent form. It will not shared with unauthorized third parties. We share de-identified or aggregate data with our clients who had requested the study. “De-identified data” means information where we have removed identifiable data such as your name and other data that could reasonably be used to identify you. “Aggregate data” is data that has been combined with other data so that it doesn’t identify any specific person.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Data is stored securely on local storage devices.
- Access is restricted to authorized research staff only.
- Data will be pseudonymized where identification is not necessary.
7. Data Retention
Data will be retained for 1 year and then securely deleted unless you request its deletion earlier.
